Plant Adaptations!

Hello everyone,
We will begin learning about how living things adapt to their environment.  Below is a video titled, "Life: Plants".  It is narrated by Oprah Winfrey.  In the video you witness how strange and unusual plants adapt to their habitat.  Watch the video and type in comments in the comments section.  Let me know what you learned or thought was fascinating from watching the video!

Enjoy!

Subtraction and Place Value

Hello Everyone!
I am back with some new math posts!  I am posting some video links that I found that might be helpful.  We are spending some days reviewing subtraction and addition.  Place value is so important to help you understand subtraction and addition strategies.  Here are links to two videos that illustrate that!

Video 1 on place value
Video 2 on subtraction using place value

Happy viewing!

Division Strategies

Hello Everyone!
We have begun division in math class.  I found some videos that might be helpful.  Each one is a little different!  They show some strategies that you can use for solving problems.

Video 1:  Division Using Arrays by Wendy Smith.  This shows the "break apart" strategy for division (Distributive Property).  A great visual tool for solving division problems.

Video 2: Division for Beginners by LadyDMcollector.  This video breaks down the basic concept of division and its relationship to multiplication.

Video 3: An overview of division strategies.  Some that we have learned and others that we will explore soon in class.

Enjoy!
